Herman Theodric Jones was born May 26, 1906 in Little Rock, Arkansas to John Redel and Gertrude Beatrice (Leatherwood) Jones. Jones received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Zoology from the University of Kansas; he also did graduate work in Education Administration at that University. From 1932-1939, Jones taught and was Registrar at Western University in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1939, he became Principal of Topeka, Kansas' Kansas Vocational School. Eight years later, ...
